HELLO, I’M SHARMANI :)
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, to parents from Hong Kong. My journey in education began during my university days. It was then that I discovered my passion for teaching while helping children in my neighbourhood with their homework.
After pursuing a degree in Accounting and Finance, I embarked on a career path in the Life Insurance sector, accumulating over a decade of invaluable experience. Alongside my daily responsibilities, I naturally gravitated towards mentoring, finding fulfillment in training new team members and sharing insights with colleagues.
In 2019, I made a life-changing decision to relocate to Madrid, Spain, where I embarked on my own language learning journey by immersing myself in the Spanish language. It was during this time that I became acutely aware of the challenges of learning a new language, particularly the limitations of traditional classroom settings.
Motivated to transform language education, I embraced a new role as an English language teacher and Neurolanguage Coach®, leveraging my diverse background and passion for teaching.
Since then, I've had the privilege of teaching close to 10,000 online classes (excluding in-person sessions) to students of all ages, spanning from curious young children to busy adults and professionals.
Fun facts about me!
🎾I am passionate about tennis! (It’s my go-to for grounding my mindset and staying focused.)
✈️ Travel is my favourite teacher (Every journey is an adventure!)
🥑 I can’t stand avocados! (There’s just something about mushy textures that doesn’t sit right with me.)
I grew up speaking English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, dabbled in Japanese during high school, and recently added Spanish to the mix. What language should I tackle next? Suggestions welcome!
I look forward to working with you all! 😊
